Each week, our interns serve at a local orphanage called Hope House. They spend two hours with the children on Friday afternoons, teaching lessons, playing games, making crafts, and showering the kids with love. Recently the interns helped brighten things up at the orphanage by repainting the walls. They’ve already got grand plans for custom-painting each of the bedrooms.

“Our kids” at Hope House are so precious; we love watching them grow and develop both physically and spiritually. We are thankful for the opportunity to actively engage in their lives and show them the love of God in practical ways.

Welcome to the Family

Frontline Mission Team

Sixteen students have joined us for our
two-month summer internship
. Our Outreach Staff help us host mission teams and minister in Qwa Qwa through relationship evangelism. They work really hard (on the base and out at ministry sites) to make sure our teams have a wonderful experience and successful ministry. We wouldn’t be able to get through this busy season without their help. Welcome to the Thrive family, Outreach Staff!

Last month we hosted a mission team of 15 college students from McLean Bible Church (McLean, VA). They spent two weeks with us, sharing the love and hope of Christ through relationship evangelism, children’s club, and hospital visitation. The team also helped out at a special Leadership Summit event by leading small groups in discussion and activities. They impacted many lives and we’re so grateful they chose to serve God alongside us in Africa!

We have a lot more teams coming out in the next few weeks and months. All our staff and interns have been working hard to get the mission base ready to accommodate so many people. We know the effort is well worth it! We love hosting teams because we’ve seen the fruit firsthand. Lives are changed on both sides of the ocean!
